Herding Cats (B)

by: Keith Bergman

**Ever try to tell cats what to do?  You can't.  Now imagine a whole room full of them, wandering randomly of their own free will -- and your score depends on getting them all out the door before time runs out.  You can't tell cats anything, but you CAN manipulate their environment and try to get them where you want them.  Tools at your disposal range from "catnip magnets" to barking dogs to building walls - you can even "shake the table" to knock them all to one side, or send in the catdozer or the cat-apult!  But each tool in your arsenal costs you points, and if you don't herd enough cats to the exit when time runs out, it's game over.  30 levels of gameplay are planned, with the ability to load future level sets from disk.

 Honeycomb Rapture  (R)

by: Owen Brand (Oprysoft)

**Honeycomb Rapture is an arcade-type action based game based around the current global honey-bee crisis.  Honeybees are disappearing all over the world by the millions, and your goal in this game is to personally take control of one honeybee at a time and guide them from the garden to the honeycomb before they get hit by aircraft-dropped pesticides or Africanized "killer bees."  Each level presents an increasing level of difficulty as the frequency and speed of your enemies increases.  Good Luck!

This is a Classic99 capture of the initial SPRITE motion routines.  The majority of the graphics are still not coded yet.

This is a picture out of the original SPRITE definition on graph paper and the associated hex code to the sides of the diagram.

The Legend of Beryl Reichardt   (D)

by: Owen Brand (Oprysoft)

**The Legend of Beryl Reichardt started life as a ToD custom game by Owen Brand and Mark Wooldridge.  Due to hardware issues and the fact that, at the time, Classic99 did not support the editing software necessary to develop a custom ToD game, the project was suspended.  Now, a year later, the game concept/idea is being resurrected as a stand-alone game in the RPG vein.  The graphic character renderings will be posted on this page very soon, and you can visit the author's blog to read more about the game concept and character stories.  **CLICK HERE**

The ToD game is againn in the works as well, and can be downloaded in incomplete form on the "Downloads" section of Opry99er.  To download the ToD game, **CLICK HERE**.

Manic Miner  (D)

by: Mark Wills

**Manic Miner is a port (without reference to the original code) of Matthew Smith's ZX Spectrum game of the same name.  Similar to the TI game, Miner2049er, but much smoother in execution, this port is being created "the hard way," screen by screen-- graphic by graphic from the memory of the author, Mark "Willsy" Wills.  Each gamescreen has a unique tone and feel based on colors, enemies, graphics, etc.  Using the SPRITE designer he himself built, the characters in this game are exceptional and the graphics are really smooth(e).  Visit the blogspot for this game and view additional screenshots.  **http://manic-miner-ti994a.blogspot.com **

Pitfall!  (R)

by: Filip Van Vooren (retroclouds)

**Pitfall! is a magnificent remake/port of David Crane's classic jungle adventure of the same name.  Filip, the author, has gone to great lengths to hold very true to the original.  Pitfall! for the TI-99/4a is a prime example of a masterful and well executed Assembly Language game and truly shows what is possibly with this language.  Watch the video below to get a feel for  the gameplay.  Filip is currently working on making this game available on cartridge, so it is not yet released in its final form.  Please visit the developent blog for this and other magnificent Retroclouds games.  **CLICK HERE**
